Heal a Child Action Team
The Heal a Child Action Team are contributors whose donations support the average cost of one child's surgery. There are two Action levels:
- US Action: the average cost of surgery for a child brought to the US for treatment
- In-country Action: the average cost of surgery for a child treated in-country by IHC medical team doctors
IHC's Bring program Average Child Cost $3,250
Average cost of heart surgery or brain surgery $8,000
The cost of a child's surgery requiring more advanced care in the United States at one of IHC's other partner hospitals. This care requires additional pre- and post- surgical testing, monitoring and follow-up. The child and their caregiver are usually in town from a minimum of three weeks to a 3-4 months maximum. IHC supports all of the needs of the child and caregiver during this time.

Surgeries performed during our surgical team trips to countries are completed more rapidly at a lower cost, because these are more routine, less complicated surgeries. These surgeries range from heart procedures, brain surgeries, and orthopedic, to clef lip and palate repair and urological procedures.
